Mississippi Sin Quiche

This recipe is for a savory quiche made with ham, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, eggs, and heavy cream, baked in a pie crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ham diced
  • 2/3 cup sharp cheddar cheese grated, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 3 tablespoons sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 (8 oz.) package cream cheese room temperature
  • 1 green onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 refrigerated pie crust
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • Place ham in a medium skillet and sauté for 3-5 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove from heat and set aside.

  • In a large bowl, stir cream cheese until softened and smooth. Add ham, hot sauce, worcestershire sauce garlic powder and onion powder, and stir together until fully combined and incorporated.

  • Unroll pie dough and place in pie dish, crimping edges as desired.
  • Transfer mixture to pie dish, then sprinkle with 1/3 cup cheddar cheese and green onion.

  • In the same bowl as before, whisk together eggs, sour cream and heavy cream until combined, then pour mixture into pie dish and top with remaining 1/3 cup cheese.

  • Place pie dish in oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until center is just set.
