Chex Mix Oven Recipe

This classic Chex mix is perfect. Each piece is coated with savory seasoned goodness and it is baked to crisp perfection. There are no little packets of mix to remember, just simple ingredients you are likely to already have in your pantry. It is good for holiday gatherings, parties, road trip snacks and more.

Ingredients

  • 6 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 3 cups corn Chex
  • 3 cups rice Chex
  • 3 cups wheat Chex
  • 1 cup peanuts
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 2 cups cheese crackers

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 250°F
  • Place butter in the bottom of a large roasting pan. Put in oven until butter is melted.
  • Add the Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, and garlic and onion powders to the melted butter and stir to combine.
  • Stir in Chex cereals, peanuts, pretzels and cheese crackers until everything is coated with the spiced butter mixture.
  • Bake the cereal mixture for an hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Spread baked Chex mix out over wax paper and allow to cool completely before placing in an airtight container to store.

Notes

Feel free to mix and match your favorite cereals, crackers etc. to customize your mix. Just keep the general proportions the same.
We like using Goldfish crackers or something similar, because they are cute. However Cheez-Its, oyster crackers, bagel chips, or even Cheerios work in their place.
